Soroti Municipality parliament seat 2016-2021: Aspirants face the electorate in a public debate

Six parliamentary aspirants tussle it out for Soroti Municipality parliamentary seat with Herbert Edmond Ariko of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party appearing to edge the other five candidates. The ruling NRM party candidate, Peter Ojur has just crossed to the party from Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) where he’s previously vied for the same post in past elections.
Moses Attan, an FDC stalwart throughout his political career stands as an independent after crying foul in the party primaries that he was purged out by the much wealthy Ariko whom he accuses of corrupting delegates despite being a novice in the game.
Jimmy Ekemu who’s also new to the race is a blood brother to former incumbent who lost to Mike Mukula who is not contesting after declaring retirement from active politics. Ebau, ….. and …..
